LAMINATOR  
OPERATING PROCEDURES  
CARE AND CLEANING  
Be sure that the machine is placed on a flat surface. Plug the  
power cord into a grounded AC outlet. To use your laminator  
follow these directions:  
Always unplug the laminator from electrical outlet before  
cleaning. Clean the outside of the laminator with a damp  
cloth only. Do not use solvents such as alcohol, benzene or  
thinner. Do not immerse in water.  
The QuikFinish 4-Roller laminator has HOT, COLD, and FOIL  
laminating settings. The PLH4100 is designed for documents up to  
10 inches wide. The PLH4150 is designed for documents up to 15  
inches wide. This unit also includes a 1.5 hour AUTO-SHUTOFF  
function.

To Cold laminate:  
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the  
manufacturer, its service agent or qualified service agent in  
order to avoid a hazard to your health.  
1. Push the switch to COLD position. The RED LIGHT will  
illuminate, and the unit is ready to cold laminate.  
2. Prepare the item to COLD laminate according to  
instructions for cold laminate pouch.  
3. Feed document to be COLD laminated into front of the  
unit. It will be pulled into the laminator. Banner American  
suggests using the pouch carrier.

CAUTIONS  
Before using your laminator, be sure to observe the  
Maximum Thickness ................1/12” (2mm)  
Film Thickness .........................4 mil up to 18 mil  
Auto stop time .......................... 1.5 +/- 10% HOURS  
Temperature range.................... 95 - 125 C(203 - 257 F)  
1. Push the slide switch to LAMINATE position. The  
temperature control knob will be available for adjustment,  
you can select suitable temperature by turning knob to  
laminate different pouch sizes. After approximately 3-5  
minutes, the unit is warmed up and the GREEN READY  
light will illuminate and the unit is ready to laminate.  
Note: If you slide the switch from FOIL to LAMINATE  
position, make sure to wait and laminate after 15 minutes.  
2. Take one pouch and peel apart the pouch. Insert the  
document into the laminating pouch.  
3. Insert the pouch (closed end first) into the laminator until  
the rollers catch the pouch and start to feed automatically.  
4. Remove the pouch from rear of the laminator after it has  
completely exited the laminator.

o not touch or place anything on hot  
urfaces. Wait for unit to cool before moving  
cleaning.  
TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT USAGE:  
1. Temperature adjustment is only available in the HOT  
lamination mode. It is not available in COLD or FOIL mode.  
2. Once the green laminate LED illuminates in the HOT  
lamination mode, it will not distinguish even if you adjust the  
temperature adjustment to a different temperature setting  
unless you switch to the OFF position.  
3. To change the laminating temperature, adjust the  
temperature knob to desired temperature. Once you have  
selected desired temperature, please wait for 2-3 minutes  
before laminating.

immerse in or operate near water or  
other liquids.  
3. The use of other attachments is not  
recommended by the manufacturer in  
conjunction with the product. Use of other  
attachments may cause injury.  
STANDARD  
To Hot Foil Laminate:  
MODEL PLH4100 & PLH4150  
1. Push the slide switch to the FOIL position. After  
approximately 5 minutes, the GREEN READY light will  
illuminate, and the unit is ready to foil.  
2. Lay out the foil paper on the document according to foil  
instructions. Insert the foiled item against the fold inside  
the carrier. (A paper carrier must be used for foiling).  
3. Insert the carrier (closed end first) into the laminator  
unit until the rollers catch the carrier and start to feed  
automatically.  
4. Not all pouches can be used at the same temperature for  
different thickness pouches. Please note that these settings  
are SUGGESTIONS ONLY. You may need to test your  
pouches under different temperatures to reach satisfactory  
results.  
4. This product is not intended for any  
other use other than lamination.

that only Banner American Products’  
laminating pouches be used.  
POUCHES  
4. Remove the carrier from the rear of the laminator after it  
has completely exited the laminator. Leave the document  
inside the carrier for several seconds to cool before  
removing it.  
6. Always unplug the unit when not in use  
to prevent accidents. The electrical outlet  
should be installed near the equipment and  
should be easily accessible.

1. Push the switch to OFF position when you are finished  
laminating or foiling your documents.  
7. Do not operate with a damaged power  
supply cord.  
Note: The left temperature control knob is only available for  
the LAMINATE position.

AUTO-SHUTOFF TIME:  
NO  
HANDS  
This unit will automatically shut-off after approximately 1.5  
hours. To re-start the laminator, slide the switch to OFF  
position for at least 5 seconds, then slide the switch to COLD,  
LAMINATE or FOIL position. The unit will start to work again.  
8. Keep loose clothing, fingers, hair, jewelry  
and other foreign objects away from  
laminating slot.
